boy meets girl = a family is born
Anara is at that age where she is either saying the sweetest thing ever or the funniest thing ever. Last night she insisted that we play Mario Racer (Mario Kart) and Mario Princess (Mario Brothers) on the Wii. Unfortunately, the Mario Kart disc would not work, and I expected her to throw a fit, but instead she patiently sat on the floor with me while I swapped discs and proceeded to try saving the princess.
After minutes of silence between us, she turns to me and says, “Today’s a good day.” It makes me realize how the simple things make her happy and that I should enjoy it while it lasts. The years of screaming matches and slamming doors is not far off.
In fact, sibling rivalry is probably not that far off either. When we first came down the stairs, we found the dog laying on the sofa – which he knows he is not supposed to do – and I told Anara “Your puppy is a big spoiled brat, isn’t he?” to which she answered “Yes, like Hayden.”
This is simply what it is. My little family that is mine. "I cannot buy it -- ‘tis not sold -- There is no other in the World -- Mine was the only one."
